I designed this setup for adding outside temperature information to my home assistant setup with ESPHome integration. Desinged to be mounted on a wooden surface.Schematic and ESP Home config will be added soon ….Required Hardware:Sensor housing:DFRobot Solar LiPo Charger DFRobot FireBeetle ESP32 IoT Sensors: BMP388/BME680, ….4x 5x5x5 cube magnet6x threaded inerts M26x countersunk screw M24x self tapping, countersunk screw 1.7x62x pogo pin 2x4.5mm Solar panel holder:6x 1.7x6 self tapping, countersunk screw2x 1.7x10 self tapping, countersunk screw2x M3 Nut2x M3x12 screwXT30 female2.5W 5-6V Solar PanelSensor housing dock:XT30 male4x 5x5x5 cube magnetMounting material:some 2.0x10 woodscrews to mount the dock and the solar panelWhy these components? In contrast to other ESP32 Dev Boards the FireBeetle is optimized for minimal current consumption, when in sleep. Pleas also check this great comparision of different ESP32 modules by Christopher David. The chip used on the DFRobot solar lipo charger can handle low input voltage/current quite well and still manages to charge the batter under low light conditions. Other charger chips did not deliver satisfying results.Available Files:main_body:sensor_plattform:top_cover:dock_main_body:solar_panel_case:solar_panel_adapter:solar_panel_wall_mount:Printing InstructionsPrusament PETG Urban Greylayer height 0.3mmNo support, except top_coverNo raftFeedback AppreciatedPlease give feedback and post your makes.
