Inverted Jar Fish Tank Tower
thingiverse
Print a holder for your jar to make a little fishy penthouse for your betta / guppies / various fish! Lid fits normal mason jar mouth (not wide-mouth) with continuous threading. Larger jars may not work as well due to the weight. 1. Screw on top to jar 2. Place hanger securely on tank wall 3. Fill jar with tank water 4. Invert jar, keeping mouth underneath the water surface 5. Hang jar on hanger, looping a rubber band or hair tie on both jar and hanger to keep jar upright For bettas, make sure to leave some air in the jar before inverting. This should also help with achieving 100% humidity for them to breathe more comfortably. V2: Added Rimmed and Rimless tank hangers. Rimmed: adjusted to fit better on some tanks with thicker rims (such as the Tetra 5.5 gallon), added support block to bottom to prop up jar against glass better, removed bottommost rung. Glass thickness ~5 - 6 mm. Rimless: adjusted to fit better on the back of rimless tanks. Glass thickness ~5-6 mm. (Remember, the lid does protrude from the back and doesn't allow the hanger to lie flush on the glass, so allow a few mm to allow for that!) Feel free to edit the files for your own tank! V1: Rimless tanks may need the hanger to be padded where it hangs on the back or scaled down to sit comfortably. Rimmed tanks may need padding between the back of the hanger (where it sits in the water) and the tank wall, as there may be some gap from the rim (if there is a jut for a lid.) May be updated for better fit between parts or more lid sizes.
