Invermay Cross
sketchfab
Four fragments of sculpture showcased at Forteviot Church originate from the Invermay Cross. A nearly intact base remains in a field at Invermay, remarkably close to its original location over 1,000 years ago. The cross was intentionally broken into separate pieces towards the end of the 18th century. The surviving elements hint at figurative scenes reminiscent of those found on Constantine's Cross. Given their size and solidity, it seems likely that Invermay was a cross-slab similar to Gask rather than a standalone monument like Constantine's Cross. The form suggests an 8th or 9th century origin for the structure.
