If your kids or parents adore the Dickens Village collection at Christmas but you're worried about the tangled mess of 120V cheater plugs and bulbs that come with, here's a safer alternative. Warm white LED weatherproof flexible-strip 60 LED is the perfect solution: https://www.adafruit.com/products/357 I chose these because they closely match the color temperature of the original incandescent bulbs. I used one segment of three LEDs for each display. Although rated for 12VDC, they are a bit too bright, so I repurposed an abandoned 9VDC wall plug to tone them down slightly. The LED strips have adhesive backing but applying some Loctite Ultragel ensures a secure fit. Snap-action five-wire block connector is the key: https://www.adafruit.com/products/874 To make things easier, I used this part; a good alternative source is newark.com. If the ceramic holes aren't precisely aligned, simply wrap some soft foam around the base for a snug fit. Print Settings: Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: Mini Rafts: No Supports: No Notes: Any material will work, but I used APLA. ABS is also a good choice; PLA can become brittle over time due to heat generated by the LEDs, but it should last for a long while.
