The Intex swimming pool skimmers available after-market are top-notch and very affordable. This modification effectively eliminates both problems that arise with these skimmers. The first issue is when the skimmer is set too high (or water level drops), the skimmer starts sucking air, causing the pump to lose prime ~ potentially leading to costly damage. The second problem occurs when the skimmer height is set too low and even mild activity causes the outer blue housing to flop out of its holder, rendering it useless.
