I decided to redesign the clip to cup connection after my kids went through a few of the original design in a weekend. They are expert stress testers after all. This one moves the receiving duties to the clip part. This makes it about twice as wide and adds a good bit of rigidity. The clip profile fit the top pool bar quite well as is. The cup was a good size too, so I didn't really make any changes to those. The black cup holder in the pic is an unsuccessful interim prototype I made (thicker clip tang and closed in receiving slot). It didn't fare much better, but it shows how wide the new clip is compared to the original.
