Intervalometer Mount (Monoprice Maker Pro)
thingiverse
Hello all. For what felt like an eternity, I was on the hunt for a way to capture SUPER HIGH QUALITY photos for my timelapse videos, but gopros and webcams just weren't cutting it. After weeks of searching, I finally stumbled upon a solution! 3D PRINT TIMELAPSE METHOD (DSLR CAMERAS): * To get started, you'll need an Intervalometer: https://amzn.to/2YZfFSw If you're not familiar with what an intervalometer is, it's essentially a handheld remote control featuring a button that can be pressed to take a photo on a DSLR. * Next, you'll need to 3D print a mount to hold your intervalometer in place. I used my Monoprice Maker Pro https://amzn.to/2PRT8DY, so I custom designed a holder in CAD specifically for the intervalometer listed above. The second part attaches to the extruder, and you'll need to mount a small hex key to this part, which will be used to trigger the button on the intervalometer. The steps below will modify your GCODE and inject lines of code to tell the extruder to move to the corner between each layer to take a photo. I use cura as my slicer, so here's how to modify your settings in cura: CURA Extensions ---- Post Processing ---- Modify Extensions In the "Search" section, type ;LAYER: In the "Replace" section, type G92 E0 G1 E-2 F400 G90 G1 F8000 X280 Y275 G92 E0 G1 E-2 F400 G1 F400 X290 G4 S1 G1 F8000 X280 G92 E0 G1 E2 F400 G1 F8000 X275 ;LAYER: Make sure that "Use Regular Expressions" is checked.
