International Space Station | NASA
sketchfab
The International Space Station orbits the earth at a safe distance, its habitable artificial presence in low orbit attracting attention since 1998 when the first component was successfully placed into orbit. Now, it stands as the largest artificial satellite in existence, often visible to the naked eye from the surface of our planet. The ISS is composed of pressurized modules, external trusses that provide structural support, solar arrays that harness energy from the sun, and other essential components. These ISS components have been launched into space by powerful Russian rockets such as Proton and Soyuz, as well as American Space Shuttles capable of carrying heavy payloads.
