Human: this is a large sign for the International Baccalaureate, designed to be used in schools, made from different colored acrylic discs glued together to create varying levels of height and attached to a 1m diameter clear acrylic disc. Acrylic can be sourced from Technology Supplies or local plastic suppliers. Colors can be found by searching "IB Puzzle". The 1m disc was cut by a local supplier due to its size, which exceeded the capacity of my laser cutter. I have provided files with an engrave option and also included a sheet for cutting out white vinyl. To assemble the sign: 1. Use a compass to locate the center of the 1m disc and draw a circle with a diameter of 800mm. Then, at 900mm from the center, use the compass to divide the circumference into four equal sections and drill holes for stand-off wall mounts on the protective cover at the back. This will allow you to see the backing through the clear acrylic and use it as guides when gluing the stacks onto the front. (https://www.e-shopfittings.co.uk/sign_fittings/standoffs__wall_sign_fixings/10087_0c.html) 2. Glue 20mm discs in stacks ranging from one disc to five discs, creating eight of each level (e.g., 1 stack, 8 two-stack, etc.). 3. Place the stacks under the puzzle pieces and adjust their positions to achieve a consistent gap of 1 between each piece. A stack with a height of one cannot be next to a stack with a height of two but can be adjacent to a stack with a height of three or more. 4. Glue these stacks onto the back of the puzzle pieces, using four stacks per piece and Tensol 12 or another acrylic adhesive. (https://www.trentplastics.co.uk/tensol-12-adhesive) 5. Attach the puzzle pieces to the 1m disc, ensuring a clearance of at least 10mm between each piece (refer to the 2D design files). 6. Paint the letters in white or apply vinyl stickers with lettering (use picture and files as examples). 7. Mount the sign onto the wall using stand-off fixings, originally specified as 25mm in diameter.
