Internal Combustion Engine Anamation
thingiverse
I'm fascinated by this three-cylinder engine animation, carefully crafted in OpenSCAD. The goal was to gain a deeper understanding of the internal workings of Boyer ignition systems, as they're typically installed on Triumph Trident motorcycles. Given that all cylinders receive simultaneous sparks, I wanted to visualize the various cycles of the engine that are subjected to these extra sparkings. To initiate the animation process within OpenSCAD, navigate to the main menu bar and select "View / Animate." Beneath the compose window, you'll find three essential dialog boxes that require specific values: Time: blank Fps: 1 Steps: 24 By entering these settings, you'll start a simulation that iterates through each of the 24 distinct crankshaft angles defined in the R array (rotation). This meticulous approach ensures a smooth and detailed animation of the engine's internal mechanisms.
