Intermediate gears for micro mill Sieg SX1
thingiverse
This is one of the intermediate gears on the Sieg SX1 micro mill. It will most likely break apart when you use a flycutter, prefereably on a Saturday or Sunday and it will bring your project to a grinding halt. This gear will replace both gears on the intermediate shaft due to doubled height and will only give you the low speed range. However, it will get you back on track until your spares arrive and you can finish your project. Throughhole is 10mm, key is 4x4mm, 2 in the shaft, 2 in the gear. There is an added 0,2mm of clearance in the gear keyslot giving some headroom for keys that are a bit to high from the factory... Make sure to deburr the key cutout on the intermediate shaft. From the factory, they are very rough and will cut both the gears and your fingers and will shave material off the sintered brass bearings. I now added the other wheel, too. Most likely, you will only have destroyed one gearset, leaving you with the other gearset to continue working.
