Interlocking Snap Tube
thingiverse
Interlocking tubing that fits together seamlessly and holds its position remarkably well, making it ideal for re-positionable mounts like those used on GoPros. Compatible with commercial interlocking tubes of similar diameter, this tubing offers a convenient solution for various tasks. Although it may not be as air-tight as the genuine article and lacks the holding power, it still performs adequately for straightforward applications. As I've discovered, printing with a standard FDM printer can make it challenging to snap and adjust the tubing initially, but as some of the layers wear down, it becomes easier to manipulate. After printing over a thousand pieces, I'm still fine-tuning the design to achieve optimal results. Print Settings: Printer: Folger Prusa i3 Supports: No Notes: To ensure a smooth print, turn the interlocking tube upside-down on the bed, with the small hole facing downwards. This prevents the pressed layers from causing difficulties in snapping the tubing together. For added support, print the GoPro mount with supports. I find that using PETG filament is beneficial for this design, as it offers more flexibility before breaking.
