While searching for a compact drawer system, I discovered that most modular drawers were too large for small parts like various M2, M3 and M4 screw sizes. Most modules measure 70mm wide, but scaling them down results in imprecise interlocking parts that don't fit together snugly. Printing at full size wastes filament and print time unnecessarily when only smaller drawers are needed. To solve this problem, I decided to remix a modular drawer cube design and make several improvements. Firstly, the interlocking mechanism has been made more forgiving for printing on smaller scales. Secondly, a simple catch has been added so that drawers don't fall off when pulled out, which is surprising given how easy it is to implement. The bottom layers of the design have also been modified to prevent elephant foot swelling, eliminating the need for a raft during printing. Additionally, the interlocking parts are now smaller and less noticeable, allowing them to be used as legs for the bottom modules. As a result, the front of the drawers looks exceptionally clean. One of the key benefits of this design is that everything can be printed without support material. I would appreciate any feedback, suggestions or tips you may have on how to improve this design further!
