Blender users take note: highpoly modeling and lowpoly modeling are not one and the same thing. When it comes to baking textures, highpoly meshes should be handled separately from their lowpoly counterparts. In other words, do not attempt to bake your highpoly mesh within Blender itself. This approach can lead to poor results and a lack of control over the final texture output.
