I need to merge two rods at their terminals. This joint is designed as an open-close latch, so I've come up with this coin-sized interlocking device. You align the two components and turn it to secure them. This may also be useful in confined spaces or attaching objects to walls. (I have added a "blank" piece that has no connection to the lock but shares the same design, allowing it to function as an end-cap.) I've attached the SCAD file so you can modify the model according to your specifications. I printed it from PLA and only minor adjustments were needed to achieve a smooth finish.
