Interlocking Brick Window
thingiverse
This is a casement-style window for a Lego-compatible brick wall that features a slot on one side to insert "glass" such as clear acrylic or paper scenes, or something to diffuse light. I created the blank brick using part 615256 and then added window features and the slot using TinkerCAD. The example in the photo was printed with Simplify 3D, using supports inside the window opening and slot. These required a bit of cutting with a razor knife to clear out without damaging the part. After several iterations, this is the first one that survived support removal intact. I had to reinforce the interior to keep the supports from damaging the final piece. I included a model of the window pane itself for dimensional reference, but deleted it before printing mine. The window pane can be made from a 1/16" (1.6 mm) sheet of acrylic. I scored the window shape with a knife and snapped it with pliers. There is ample overlap to hide any jagged edges and crooked cuts. Future additions might include a version with a curtain rod holder inside. You can edit the TinkerCAD model here: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/1Whk1JNS6vv
