Interior design night table lamp

Sometimes it's great to take on small, one-day side projects to break free from daily routines. I headed to a DIY store to pick up an LED lamp that would stand out from others. The project also required cable and socket, so I grabbed those too. As it turned out, there was a cable that matched the bulb color - what luck! Next, I took my time to design it and put everything together. The entire process, including designing it and creating 2D files for lasercutting, took me just one day. So, I'm confident you'll be able to replicate it with the provided files in a single day. Here are some notes on building the project: The parts were cut from 4mm plywood, leaving gaps of 3.64mm between them. This is because my lasercutter has a kerf of 0.36mm - yours may differ, so you'll need to adjust those gaps accordingly. I designed it so that it can be assembled without glue. First, cut out the pieces and sand them using a hand sander or sandpaper from both sides. Then, use a vacuum cleaner to clean off any dust. At this point, it's a good idea to hang the pieces on a string or wire and give them a coat of paint. Since I was short on time, I assembled the project first and then spray painted the whole thing with fast-drying varnish - that's okay too. It's better to paint them as soon as possible, when there's less chance of smudging the raw pieces with greasy fingertips. If you do it this way, cover the socket and cable with masking tape and a plastic bag. Here are the assembly steps: 1) Feed the cable through the circle with a small hole in the center. 2) Place the socket in the other circle with a large hole in the center and secure it with a nut. 3) Connect the cable to the socket. 4) Mount the ribs around the circle with the socket mounted in them. The ribs have dots at the bottom - mount them in ascending order based on the dot count. 5) Attach the half-circle top piece. 6) Push the bottom piece into place.
