This device helps prevent a household family member from accidentally locking an exterior door's interior-access-only deadbolt while out. A typical scenario involves going outside for a walk or swim, only to have someone lock it upon returning to bed. How will you get back in? With this device installed on top of the interior deadbolt, especially if 3D-printed in bright red PLA plastic, there's no mistaking that a household member has stepped out and this locking mechanism should remain unlocked until their return. The only way to lock it is by removing this device, which requires a conscious, deliberate action. Please note that this solution works for only one specific make and model of interior deadbolt.
