Growing up in the Cold War era in a military household I got regular exposure to all kinds of military books on equipment, tactics, etc. I always seemed to love American Vietnam Era equipment. The Helicopters especially inspired me. As I got older and started playing WH40k I noticed that much of the Imperial Guard force could and should be represented by American Vietnam era equipment.
