We designed a low cost modular assembly using an inexpensive laser pointer to study interference and diffraction in introductory physics. This was in response to our desire for the students to have a hands-on laboratory experience during the COVID-19 lock-down. Print Settings Printer Brand: Prusa Printer: i3 MK3 MMU 2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 200 Infill: 20 Filament: Generic PLA Any Notes: PRUSA slicer settings: Print settings: 0.20mm SPEED, Filament : generic, infill 20% 2 walls, 3 top and 3 bottom layers. Slides are printed flat on the bed. Include skirt / brim to prevent corners from lifting up. Post-Printing We used 0.015 diameter music wire from K & S metals for the wire slide. Wire was cut to length and a drop of super glue in each of the two small wells was used to secure the wire to the slide. Category: Physics & Astronomy
