Interchangeable Tool Handle Molding System

I create custom tools to perform specific tasks, often with unique handle designs that can be challenging to manufacture. Molding a handle in the center and aligning it straight with the tool shaft can be tricky, requiring drilling out for glueing or using epoxy, which adds an extra step. Instead, overmolded handles simplify the process. However, creating molds for specific tool shaft sizes limits their versatility - what if you need to use different shafts? This system allows for interchangeable handle molds with various sized shaft holders. To use this system, pour a silicone mold with a disk-shaped recess at the top where resin is poured, then print the appropriate holder for your tool shaft. Spray mold release on the holder and secure your tool within it, ensuring the holder indexes into the disk recess to center and align the shaft. Once cured, simply demold your creation. The holders are interchangeable with different handle molds, giving you options for various projects. You can also suspend threaded hardware at a desired depth using well-released bolts, creating threaded handles. For tools like flat screwdrivers that won't pass through solid holders, there are split shaft options available. I've designed numerous shaft and handle combinations to cater to diverse tools. A full set of molds and shaft holders offers flexibility for most any tool you might need to create. If you only require the handle without the disk-shaped recess, simply cut 0.125" off the bottom of the STL file.
