Interchangeable Shower Soap Dish System

Fits a 25mm shower riser tube with precision. A minimum of 25mm shower riser tube to wall clearance is required, while a recommended 30mm offers optimal performance. The original shower soap holder featured a flat piece of plastic with recesses on either side for bars of soap. After several showers, the soap would clog the drain holes, transforming it into a tray filled with two globs of goo. To address this issue, I designed and created a custom tray that allows easy removal and cleaning of dishes. The colours of the trays were carefully selected to match those of the soap, resulting in a cleaner appearance for longer periods. Blades incorporated into the dishes enable air to circulate underneath wet bars of soap, promoting drying after each use. The tray's front edge is tilted downwards to encourage water to drip away from the wall. Large rounded drip edges on the dishes facilitate water drainage, even when caked-up dishes are present. These drip edges also serve as locators that prevent accidental removal from the tray and reduce the risk of injury. A compromise was reached by making the bottom of the dishes flat, allowing for easy printing without support, while the tray's angle compensates for this limitation. Support is necessary, however, for the overhanging locating brim, but any mess caused is concealed within the recess. The tray was printed in rigid.ink Black ASA to withstand exposure to sunlight and potential bleaching of non-UV-safe plastics. ASA was chosen due to its ability to resist sun-induced degradation and maintain its colour integrity. The dishes were printed in rigid.ink ABS (Olive Green, White, Pink) as they can be easily replaced if their colours fade. Another reason for selecting ASA and ABS was the ease with which these materials can be acetone-vapour smoothed to achieve a high-gloss finish.
