Interchangeable Lithophane Lamp
thingiverse
Yet another lithophane lamp, I guess it's been done before but I haven't seen one with interchangeable plates yet so hopefully this sparks some amusement. This one is sealed up tight, no hole to let a cord plug in, which was kind of the point. Instead I wired up a bunch of bright white LEDs and hooked them up to a pair of AA batteries. It's pretty bright (a little brighter in person than it looks) but could be brighter with better parts. All I had on hand at the time so it'll do, though. The LEDs by themselves point the light too much so I added some tin foil to help spread it around, which has since been upgraded. If I make another one I might go with a 9V and an actual LED bulb but we'll see. I made this in a bit of a rush right before Christmas so there are a few flaws but it turned out well enough to be a hit as a Christmas gift. The lithophane prints aren't the highest quality because these vacation photos were taken with a camera that's basically a potato. You can only do what you can do when your parents send you vacation pics which have pixels that are easy to count on one hand.
