Interactive Pop-up Cat Toy
thingiverse
23/02/2020 I've completely reimagined this Cat Toy from scratch, and it's a major improvement over the old one. The walls were too thin before, making assembly a bit of a chore. In the new version, I've beefed up the walls and simplified the design to make it a breeze to put together. This time around, instead of two "L" shapes, it's a sleek box with a lid, making it easy to assemble. And, I've intentionally left some extra space at the bottom of the box so you can add sand or rocks - or anything else that suits your fancy - to give it some weight and prevent it from getting knocked over or batted across the room. PRINT THE PINS WITH 100% INFILL. For my test print, I only used 10% infill, which resulted in a very fragile design. The dowel that sticks out of the hole snapped off easily, even just by assembling it. Replying with 100% infill solved this issue, so your cat shouldn't be able to break this toy just by looking at it. I've designed the box to be highly versatile - you can scale it up or down to suit your needs. However, if you shrink the box, the filament holes won't fit 1.75mm filament anymore, so you may need to drill them out or print a new pin. The same goes for enlarging the box; if you do, you'll need to glue in new pins to keep them from wobbling out. 19/07/2019 I whipped up this quick design for a cat toy - it's a simple but effective idea. The pegs on the push pins are large enough to attach feathers or toys to.
