The band was created to rescue a polystyrene hive that had been damaged by frame raising shots, as shown in the photo. This band is perfect for use in homemade polystyrene hives because it allows metal interframe strips to be easily attached to this type of material. To ensure its durability, the band should be glued with epoxy. The routing that allows the band to be inserted is 12 mm deep and 15 mm high. This leaves a space of 4 mm between the top of the frame and the top of the body. When paired with a frame cover or board, this distance becomes 8 mm, making it the ideal spacing for this type of hive.
