Revised to Version 1.3, featuring an added drip tray for leak prevention; bolting arrangement has also been amended. In Version 1.2, radius corners were incorporated to ease build bed adherence, while two end recesses allowed for easier template separation using a screwdriver. Check out this video: http://youtu.be/OaK46BK0zEY. This design is based on vibration-dampening balls used in multicopters to isolate camera vibrations (compatible with various models). Although it's a rough draft, the designer plans to refine the appearance and make minor adjustments for easier silicone mold pouring, such as incorporating hinges. Photos showcase the results of Version 1 attempt, which turned out well despite being the first effort in molding. The files have been modified based on the initial experience. Assemble the parts using M3 bolts without over-tightening. Mix silicone (RTV 2020) and catalyst, then pour it into the mold. For reference, a 50g mix ratio was used. Learn more about RTV silicone mixing on Google; the designer acknowledges that air bubbles in their attempt were due to inexperience with the material. Medium hardness silicone was chosen for this prototype but has not yet been tested thoroughly. Stay tuned for updates on its performance! Printing instructions: Use Cura software, set a high infil percentage for detail retention, print with PLA filament at 0.2 layer height.
