Intel NUC 8 vertical stand (nuc8i7hvk)
thingiverse
This is a custom vertical stand for Intel's NUC 8 series devices, such as the nuc8i7hvk. A quick solution to allow this device to sit upright on my desk and take up even less space. The stand has a very slight rearward tilt. Maybe this setup will help the device run cooler. Maybe it's just a way not to look at the cheesy skull on top. I'm still unsure. What I can say is that it didn't make mine catch fire immediately, so that's something. *Update*: Replaced the .stl with what I am calling the "final" version. Not saying it can't be improved upon, but it's good enough for me now. Opened up the ventilation at the bottom a bit more (the actual ventilation holes in the side of the device are fairly small anyway, as most airflow happens from top to bottom). Also made the left side take into account the rubber feet on the bottom of the unit. *Update 2*: One last version that extends the cutout on the side to ensure the cooling fans on the bottom of the unit are fully exposed. Extends to both sides to make it symmetrical, even though it's designed for the NUC to be oriented in the stand as seen in the included picture.
