Once I got my new Intel NUC8i5BEH, I discovered that it's impossible to fit hard drives thicker than 9.5mm inside. Since I wanted to install a 4TB drive, which measures 15mm in thickness, I designed this HDD expansion base to replace the original one and hold the drive securely. This design should work seamlessly on all NUC8ixBEH models. The base prints smoothly without any supports needed, but the HDD holder requires some support for its screw hole protrusions. To secure the combined SATA data/power cable originally included with the NUC, simply reuse it and screw it to the new HDD holder. This will ensure a clean connection. When mounting both the base and the HDD, I used the following screws: * 3 x 2.5" HDD screws * 4 x 3x12mm tapping screws/chipboard screws to fix the HDD holder to the base * 4 x M2.5x16mm DIN912 allen screws to secure the expansion base to the NUC case To prevent the case from making direct contact with the table and allow for some airflow into the HDD compartment, I applied self-adhesive rubber pads to the bottom of the case.
