This IC size and the number of pins are configurable by using Solidworks Equations. Extending the length of the IC body will add or subtract the number of pins on the chip. The IC is specifically designed to fit PCB footprints with a 2.54mm pitch distance between each pin, and the distance for each row of pins is 8.5mm, which makes it ideal to be added to a PCB.
