My master's thesis focused on designing an intake for a jet engine within an unmanned aerial vehicle's fuselage, considering factors such as aircraft shape, engine position, and intake configuration. The primary objectives were to achieve no more than 3% pressure loss and 0.3% total pressure distortion according to AIP standards. I became highly invested in solving this challenge and aimed for minimal drag and optimal performance at high speeds. However, achieving both low-speed and high-speed efficiency required incorporating auxiliary intakes due to trade-offs between the two conditions.
