Intake funnel/tract for hotend cooling fan, Prusa i3 mk2s
thingiverse
An intake system for enhancing the Prusa i3 mk2s hotend cooling fan performance. By strategically reducing the cross-sectional area towards the fan and directing air into the fan blades, its efficiency increases significantly. The design allows it to avoid hitting the leadscrews when the printer homes by being cut on one side. It consists of two main components: a funnel that attaches externally to the fan, and a secondary cover that seals the holes in the fan for bolt placement. This cover clicks into place with the bolts and sits securely without additional support. The funnel can be printed independently without any supports required, but it's recommended to print it with the flat side facing downwards. In contrast, the cover necessitates support during printing. Edit: Initially, I uploaded an incorrect version of the cover. The current version (V2) is the one I use, but a part broke off while printing, prompting me to add a cutout in V3, similar to the broken piece. To accommodate this change, I've also included a revised funnel design (V2), which maximizes its size while still allowing access to the x endstop and incorporating a dome-shaped backside that enhances airflow after the fan.
