insulin
thingiverse
Surface model of pig insulin made using PDB entry 4INS (https://www.rcsb.org/structure/4INS) and UCSF Chimera (http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/) can be printed out. To build a hexamer, print three copies of two monomer files: A and B. Use blu tack to assemble them according to the PDB entry structure view for guidance (https://www.rcsb.org/3d-view/4INS/1; Assembly: bioassembly 3; Style: surface; Colour: by chain). The hexameric complex stores insulin before it is released into the body. More information about the insulin molecule can be found here: http://pdb101.rcsb.org/motm/14
