Insulating lid for filament baking
thingiverse
If you're looking to dry out your filament quickly, this setup should get the job done! I printed it with a brim, and the top surface was designed specifically to reduce warping stress so adhesion shouldn't be an issue. Low infill density is key here - 10% allows for decent bridging of the filament and traps plenty of air, making for a solid R-value insulator. With my heated bed set to 80 degrees Celsius, I measured the temperature inside the lid to be a consistent 72 degrees Celsius after just one hour. This design was created with Atomic filament reels in mind - its inner diameter is 207 mm and height is 80 mm. If you have larger reels, simply scale up the print size. Since it only makes sense to use this lid with large heated beds, I won't be offering a modular version.
