Insteon Mini Remote Screwless Bracket

Insteon Mini Remote Screwless Bracket

thingiverse

I designed a bracket to mount an Insteon Mini Remote on my kitchen cabinet without making any screw holes, so I wanted it to fit seamlessly. It works with current production Leviton single gang switchplates and possibly others as well. The wall-facing surface is closed and large enough for two 3M Command strips to be used securely. The bracket's design allows the switchplate screws to self-tap into it easily. To prevent them from digging into my cabinet, I cut the switchplate screws by 1-1/2 turns. I also tucked the tails of the Command strips under the switchplate for a perfect disguise, and now it looks exactly like the real thing. Additionally, I included a narrow version that should work with all other types of switchplates, but I haven't tested it yet. If you make one, please post your results so we can see how it works out.
