This design was created for a friend whose house had a leak, and he found that the Insteon Leak Sensor couldn't withstand water exposure, causing it to short circuit. To address this issue, the sensor is elevated above the floor and in extreme cases, will float freely. To achieve this setup, you'll need 2 stainless steel balls with a 5MM diameter and 2 pin springs to move the electrical contact to ground. For optimal contact between the detector's sensor extenders, there are two holes where zip ties can be securely fastened.
