Insta360 One R VR180 Mod
thingiverse
Hi, Disappointed because Insta360 never released their official VR180 mount, I made mine. This is the second edition, thinner and easier to assemble. It's not perfect as I'm a totally noob using a printer but it works. If anyone wants to remix it, please give me a sign, I'm interested in better one :D There are 3 parts, all of them require supports (as I said, I'm not good at that). Only front and back are requiered, the glasses are just a fun lens protector. You need a One R/RS camera with a 360 mod, and a RS original bracket or metal bracket you can open the same way. The original OneR bracket doesn't work.To extract the lenses from the 360 mod, you need to heat the plastic around the lenses with an hair dryer or heat gun, unglue the plastic tapes. Behind these tapes you'll see 4 holes with silicon inside. with a small screwdriver, remove the silicon and remove the screws. Remove the screw from the connector, too. You're now able to open the mod, and have access to the last 8 screws to remove, and are finally able to extract the lenses. If a lens is scratched, an aliexpress replacement lens is OK, i fixed mine like this. I'm using Phillips screws M1.4x5 to fix the lenses into the VR Mod, and M3x6 screws to fix the backplate. To print this, as I said, I'm not an expert. I used PLA+, 60º bed, 210º extruder, support everywhere, nozzle 0.6 and 0.2 resolution. Not so long on a KP3S (around 2h each part)You can use the official Insta360 app to control the camera while shooting, and each feature of the R/RS are available (mic, resolutions, isos, ...). But you can't use it to export the video. Studio won't work either out of the box. You need to convert and combine both insv files using ffmpeg. I'm preparing a software to make the insv files compatible with Studio to produce a VR180 result, with flowstate. So... Stay tuned (news here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/vr180)
