Inspection Crawler Robot's Track

Today, numerous industries require inspection machines that are time-efficient and reduce effort. Crawler robots conduct inspections in hazardous areas inaccessible to humans, such as sewer pipes, oil pipes, and large tanks. My role in this project was designing and analyzing the track part. The most challenging aspect involved selecting a motor that produces high torque within limited space. After extensive research, hollow cup DC motors were deemed suitable for our needs. Key specifications of the track include: 150 watts with 159.6:1 gearing; maximum voltage of 12 VDC; maximum continuous current at 6A, peak current at 12A; a payload capacity of 45kg per track, and a total payload capacity of 120kg per track.
