I have a small portable 3D-printer, but my filament spool is exposed to the air. I discovered a fantastic Curver Multibox 6 L storage box on Amazon UK with a locking lid that fits perfectly around my 200mm spools. Search for Curver storage boxes at your local reseller. I designed a frame that holds a spool holder in place and includes adjustments to keep the spool centered. I printed the frame, spool holder, and adjustments using hard materials like PLA or PETG. However, I used TPU for the pull-through parts. To connect the box to my extruder, I use 6mm PTFE tubing. To keep the box dry, I add some silica crystals to the bottom.
