Insert for Beyond The Sun boardgame (w/ expansion)
prusaprinters
I really liked Werwerf's insert, but when I printed it on my Bambu labs the lid was too wide (so it bowed up in the center), and the discs didn't fit. I don't know if our printers have different calibration (though a calibration cube was within a few hundredths of a mm on each axis) or my components are slightly different, but it didn't fit well. Also, the groove for the lid requires supports to print properly and they are very hard to clean out. So, I redesigned the player box from scratch in Fusion360, making the box slightly wider to better take up the space in the game box, and made the lid have a 45 degree angle (so supports aren't required) with retention bumps to help hold the lid in place. I didn't include the text labels because they didn't seem particularly useful. Then the Leaders of the New Dawn expansion came out and didn't really fit, so I made my own version of the main component, as well as card dividers and a small box to fill the remaining space and hold the miscellaneous tokens. You will still need the cards tray from Werwerf's project. The card separators are supplied both in .3MF files for those with multicolor printers, so you can just change the filament for bodies in each, as well as combined STLs so you can pause at a layer to change filaments for those without multicolor. I also included a single 3MF file that has plates for all the components (including the card tray I used from Werwerf), though I'm not sure how that shows up for non-Bambu printers.
