Insert Bins compatible with Makita P-84137 (or Festool SYS-SB & TL-SORT/3) Cantilever Toolbox
thingiverse
The inserts made by Roboticexile for the listed toolbox were near-exact copies of the models from the manufacturer. Whilst I commend the original designer for his efforts, I personally feel the requirement of gluing on the locating ribs, or use of supports, is a little unnecessary. I instead simplified the design with a flat bottom that will print without supports, using a consistent profile with a gentle tangent to better suit the manufacturing process of 3D printing. Instead of locating ribs, I changed the bins to have locating holes. I included designs that use minimal plastic, with holes in the bottom to locate the bins. There is also a "solid bottom" version which has extra solid layers over the holes, in case you are using the bin for small parts. General Wall thickness is very thin (at 1.2mm), which is fine for my usage. Thicker versions would be possible if there is demand, but (as mentioned below) STEP files are included. I made all possible sizes to fit in the listed toolboxes, including the largely pointless 2x6... but perhaps they will be compatible with other bigger devices that I'm unaware of. I only have the Makita Cantilever toolbox to test it in, so I cannot comment with confidence on the compatibility with the Festool models, but they seem use the same part bins and my models fit within the footprint of the original designer. They work just fine alongside the manufacturer supplied storage bins, and I actually find they locate in the ribs better, and easier. My test prints were using off-cuts and samples, which is why they're multicolour. It's all just PLA. I did not recreate Roboticexile's stackable version yet. As described below, there are no special settings needed, and this should work with any filament you desire. Just make sure to locate the base of the bin on the base of your print bed. STEP files for all models included for further community modification, including a step file for all of the "rib" cut-outs that I used with my scalable Fusion file (not shared). NOTE - I have tested the 2x2, 2x1, 1x4, and 1x6 so far.
