Batch of Parts to Expand Meccano Erector Models and Projects for Robot Building I wanted to create more Meccano parts after seeing impressive space models online. Unfortunately, there weren't many available on Thingiverse, so I took matters into my own hands and designed and printed my own parts over the weekend. This led me to design special parts and models that I couldn't find elsewhere. To build these models, you'll need standard Erector parts, including 3mmx10mm bolts and nuts. Here are some of the custom parts I created: * Base Plate: 5x5 * Angle Strip: 7x2 * Angle Brace: 2x2 (folded three times) * TubeHalf: 5x3 * ShoulderCap: 4x2 (folded three times) These parts are currently under construction. Print Settings: I used a Mendel RepRap printer with 1.75mm fiber filament. The optimal nozzle tip is 0.8mm, but you can use any tip between 0.2mm and 0.8mm without issues. It takes around 3-10 minutes to print each part. Note that the parts may be a bit fragile and prone to breakage when removing them from the print bed. Be careful! Post-Printing: After printing, you may need to file down any burrs on the parts to finish them off. Design Process: I used Tinkercad to design these custom Meccano parts. I was inspired by some amazing space models online and decided to create my own unique designs.
