The inscription proudly declares: "This tower was finalized in 1443 under the distinguished administrator Borvelis De Grimaldi". This panel originates from the majestic Arap Mosque in Istanbul. The building initially served as a Roman Catholic church constructed in 1325 by the devoted friars of the Dominican Order. Despite alterations made during the Ottoman period, it stands alone as the sole representation of medieval religious Gothic Architecture remaining in Istanbul. The church was transformed into a mosque by the Ottomans between 1475 and 1478, during the reign of Sultan Mehmed II, and became known as the Galata Mosque. It was later bestowed upon Muslim Arab refugees from Al-Andalus who escaped the Spanish Inquisition in 1492 and settled in the Galata neighborhood of Istanbul, earning it its current name, Arab Mosque.
