Inscribed object, St Just Church
sketchfab
The inscription is from St Just in Penwith parish church, possibly a holy water font or stoup, or a basin known as a lavatorium. The added text reads "D. T. B. 1736" with the numeral 6 appearing above the numeral 3, suggesting the date was intended to be 1736 but space ran out. It's possible this is an older church item repurposed as a memorial stone. This image is a rough capture using an iPhone with minimal editing and was challenging to access due to its location between the "Selus" stone and a wayside cross head. Viewing the model with the Matcap shader enhances visibility of the inscription, which can be achieved by clicking the cog icon on the lower right of the model, then selecting "Rendering" and choosing "Matcap".
