Inro styled box
thingiverse
An obi (sash) is worn around the waist, supporting an inrō (印籠), a traditional Japanese case for holding small objects suspended from it. They are often highly decorated, featuring various materials and techniques, particularly lacquer work. Since traditional Japanese robes lack pockets, objects were frequently carried by hanging them from the obi in containers called sagemono (a generic term for a hanging object attached to a sash). Most sagemono were created for specialized contents like tobacco, writing brushes, or ink, but the inrō type is versatile enough to carry anything small. To carry a trinket on my jeans, I decided to craft an inro. The design was modified slightly by replacing the netsuke with a small carbine that can be hooked onto belt loops. The inro was coated with varnish, and as a result, the lid began closing tightly, making it difficult to open.
