This design incorporates an inner wheel that enables the drum to transition seamlessly between open and closed states. The inner wheel's curved surfaces serve as protective covers when in the closed position, ensuring efficient transportation of regolith with minimal material loss. As a result, valuable resources are retained, reducing dust emissions during movement and allowing the RASSOR to maintain its orientation without compromising payload integrity. By building upon the proven legacy drum design (exceeding 60% fill rate), this concept can be optimized within the 5kg weight limit using lightweight materials like aluminum or carbon fiber. Although my initial 3D prints were unsuccessful, the design remains viable for testing and evaluation.
