inner tube isolation feet
thingiverse
A set of sound dampening feet for your printer, perfect for putting it on a half inflated bicycle tire inner tube. I use this set with my GeeTech i3 printer. It should fit any type of printer made with 8 mm plates, and other things too, come to think of it. I use four double wide (16 mm) pieces for the front and end plates, and four single wide (8 mm) pieces for the middle plates that are at a 90 degree angle in the frame. The inner tube makes one big loop around the build platform below the printer, with excess length dropping off the table at the back, crossing all the plates at a 45 degree angle. Put a bicycle inner tube under it and inflate until the whole printer is lifted up a bit and floats on air. I designed this with the Thingiverse customizer in mind, but it turns out that can't handle single non-ASCII characters like they're from the 1970s. Since I like using the ⟍ and ⟋ characters to indicate different shapes, the solution if the meshes don't fit your needs is to use OpenSCAD. The development snapshot has a built-in customizer where you can set your sizes and create the four shapes.
