Inmoov Forearms Modded
thingiverse
Many Thanks to Mr Gael, Designer of Inmoov. This Mod joins Four smaller sections into Two, with a total height just under 200mm high. Before starting, make sure you can print that high! I've included small section pieces if you can't print that high; the bolt hole has been reduced to 5mm for increased strength. Pictures give you all the information needed - no change to the actual design except for the 5mm bolt hole and a 2.2mm extension to reduce the angle and add more strength. All pieces were hand joined, with no errors. The Bicep servo mount has been modded to match the forearms' 5mm hole. Slow down your printing speed due to the small footprint and tall height of this object. It's a thin object, so set infill speed to 60mm/sec; also, tick the box that allows "collapse thin lines into single trace." There's a good chance you'll get "Death Shakes" if this is turned off, especially with higher infill speeds. I've learned not to trust it. My Forearms were printed using PLA ED3v6 with a 0.4mm nozzle. Layer height was 0.3mm, layer default width was 0.5mm, perimeters were set at -2 with both at 40mm/sec, infill was 100% at 60mm/sec, and brim was set to 15 loops with 3 layers high. Reducing printing speed on some objects makes only a small difference in printing time; same as using 100% infill, it will use only a few extra meters of filament. It's worth taking the time to do it right. The Upper and Lower Wrists (pic-9) have had their walls thickened in certain sections due to bleeding at some spots (horizontal scarring). This was probably a result of my printing settings, not a fault of the part. However, the part is now much stronger and still compatible with everything else. Parts fit together beautifully, requiring very little clean-up. If you're printing the x4 Short pieces with 5mm Elbow holes, go to the Inmoov website for the Top Sections. All parts are backwards compatible. SketchUp Files are included in the download for you to mod.
