Inline Shift Barrel Adjuster
thingiverse
One end of this adapter accepts a shift ferrule, seen in detail below, while the other end securely fits a standard Shimano barrel adjuster. Notches are carefully cut in for precise indexing with the barrel adjuster's notches. https://www.universalcycles.com/shopping/product_details.php?id=6690 Essentially, these adapters (Jagwire Rocket II Inline Barrel Adjuster) work similarly to this model. Note that mine are designed without the ability to fit into the ends of STI levers like this version. They operate as free-floating barrel adjusters. Like my downtube shift cable stops, you will experience limited adjustability with these adapters, since threading the 3D printed material is not always reliable & the threading in/out is restricted by the depth of the nut. How I Created This Design My shift ferrules are precisely measured at 12.77 mm long, 5.78 mm OD, 1.80 mm cable hole, and 4.28 mm ID. Keep in mind that this hookup may not work for other shift ferrules (larger OD) due to their increased diameter. Based on standard Shimano barrel adjusters too. Assembly & Instructions Shimano barrel adjuster 4 mm nut (0.1945 in height, approximately) shift ferrules (seen above) RJ the Bike Guy's excellent video on installation offers clear guidance.
