I created a ventilation system for heating the chamber of my FDM printer, specifically the FlashForge Creator Pro. I utilized an inexpensive $9 hair dryer, model RVDR5034 by Revlon, to achieve this goal. The hair dryer is installed into the side of the printer and directs the air downwards, thereby avoiding direct contact with the build plate. The hair dryer fits snugly into the tube but requires a set screw to secure it in place. To ensure proper function, set the hair dryer at low speed and monitor the temperature closely; its readings will vary depending on both the printer's settings and room temperature. Exceeding 50C is not recommended, as this could lead to heat stress on your electronics and motors. Operating within the 50C limit results in nearly negligible warping of ABS materials. For optimal performance, consider pairing this setup with a temperature controller, such as the one pictured. This will enable precise temperature control and prevent overheating issues. You can purchase the Revlon RVDR5034 hair dryer from Walmart's website, while the Inkbird ITC-308 temperature controller is available on Amazon.
