Inland Spool Drawers
thingiverse
I primarily use Inland PLA and PLA+ filaments sourced from Micro center, resulting in a surplus of empty rolls. Unable to locate a pre-designed drawer that accommodated them, I created my own custom solution. The printed drawers are crafted from PETG, featuring a translucent red hue due to the abundance of this material on hand. This design should be adaptable to whatever filament you have available. To assemble these drawers, you'll need 3mm Hex Head bolts, which I used in 10mm length, and be able to drill a 6mm hole in the plastic. The holes should align with the boss for the bolts, and once installed, the bolt heads function as hinges. A small raised area serves as an integrated spring, preventing the drawers from flying out. Please note that these drawers are not compatible with Hatchbox spools; however, feel free to test them with other brands of filament spools and share your results if you have any.
